The key purpose of this role is to ensure the effective implementation and upholding of AB InBev safety standards while overseeing warehouse inventory and operations. You will be responsible for supervising the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods to optimize customer service levels and achieve benchmarked productivity standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards: Ensure company and legal stacking regulations are followed, maintain site housekeeping standards, and enforce proper use of designated PPE. Fully implement and adhere to VPO and DPO protocols.
  • Warehouse Supervision: Ensure compliance with 5S standards within warehouse operations; cascade all global policies; continuously validate SOPs via management routines; maintain team rooms for routine meetings and problem solving; enforce SCL routines; monitor safety protocols; use problem-solving tools (e.g., 5Why, Abnormality Reports, SIC, OPL, RACI, OWD, PDCA) to develop action plans; cascade KPI and PI targets to employees; ensure adherence to best practice projects; maintain warehouse layout (e.g., empties zone, refusal zone, order picking zone, FG zone); track ABC compliance for warehouse efficiencies.
  • Loading & Unloading Activities: Use load summary to load correct quantities of split and full pallets; ensure products are loaded/unloaded per procedures, counted at both load and unload points, and delivery documents are signed and issued.
  • Stock Quality Management: Apply stock rotation principles to adhere to stock age standards; perform quality control on packaging prior to loading; enforce FEFO for sales orders and LIFO for inter-depot transfers; ensure blocked stocks are not loaded and report daily updates; implement VPO and DPO protocols.
  • Inventory Management: Participate in handover processes before and after every shift; ensure accurate daily stock counts are signed off; supervise container handovers to production; reconcile received quantities with production; control warehouse breakages and inventory losses; credit empties returns in line with SOP; maintain clear communication with Inventory Analyst/Clerk or Stocks and Settlement Officer.
  • Implement and Maintain Picking & Sorting Standards: Enforce standard picking processes through management routines; ensure ergonomic layout in picking & sorting areas; create and monitor KPI/PI per man hour; track adherence to sorting guidelines and targets; train staff and conduct regular quality inspections.
  • Cost Control: Observe standards for fuel usage, reduce idling time, and ensure no excessive braking; eliminate breakages and missing bottles by adhering to safe driving practices.
  • Reports: Ensure pre-trip inspection forms are accurately filled out daily; maintain accurate fuel records and submit timely fuel reports; submit DPO-related reports on time; ensure timely submission and sign-off of stock count sheets.
  • People Management: Align shop floor goals and meeting routines to drive continuous improvement; conduct Monthly One-on-Ones in line with target review processes; follow up on engagement survey results with corrective actions; manage talent recruitment and pipeline building; conduct performance reviews and address poor performance through improvement plans or disciplinary measures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse operations.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili (verbal and written communication).
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change effectively.
  • Computer literacy.
