Job Summary
Standard Bank is looking for a Teller to join our Mwanza Branch. As the first point of contact for customers, you will provide excellent customer service while handling financial transactions accurately. This role is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Process financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Verify customer identities and ensure account confidentiality.
- Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Promote and cross-sell bank products and services to customers.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve banking issues promptly.
- Comply with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the branch team to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous banking or customer service experience is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong cash handling and basic math skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and banking software.
- Knowledge of banking products and services is an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Fluency in English and Swahili (preferred).
