Job Summary

We are seeking a Technical Services Manager to take the strategic lead in managing the Engineering and Utilities functions at our brewery. The role involves ensuring the operational efficiency of environmental plant and equipment, implementing global best practices, maintaining system integrity, and leading key strategic initiatives.
The Technical Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations, ensuring compliance with corporate governance, safety regulations, and industry standards. This position requires a dynamic leader who can drive continuous improvement while managing a team of highly skilled professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and risk-free working environment.
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental legislation and company policies.
- Uphold workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
2. Human Resource Management & Team Development
- Develop and mentor employees through structured training and development programs.
- Ensure a positive industrial relations environment within the department.
- Manage a technical talent pipeline to support business continuity.
- Oversee apprenticeship and artisan development programs.
3. Engineering & Systems Integrity
- Maintain system integrity, including change control and calibration of site instrumentation.
- Ensure engineering standards compliance and update them as needed.
- Implement the VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) Maintenance Pillar strategy.
- Optimize the use of a planned maintenance system to minimize downtime.
4. Financial & Resource Management
- Oversee the ZBB Maintenance and CAPEX budgeting process.
- Manage departmental costs and track financial performance.
- Monitor utilities usage and ensure quick action is taken for any deviations.
5. Project Management & Operational Efficiency
- Ensure timely and cost-effective completion of all engineering and maintenance projects.
- Implement Value-Added (VA) and SWEEP initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Manage operational requirements for the brewery’s environmental functions, including waste and by-product optimization.
6. Sustainability & Risk Management
- Develop and implement Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for plant utilities.
- Ensure compliance with Ammonia and Steam Process Safety Management programs.
- Monitor and manage Utilities Quality Parameters (IQMS) for consistent production standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (B-Tech or BSc).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment, with expertise in engineering operations and leadership.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, engineering standards, and process optimization.
- Experience managing large teams and leading cross-functional projects.
