We are seeking a Supply Chain Director to manage and optimize the entire supply chain process for Knauf Gypsum Tanzania Limited, ensuring that our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively from planning and procurement to delivery. This position plays a crucial role in our company’s growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a localized supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s global supply chain objectives and supports growth and competitiveness in the local market.
Manage the end-to-end supply chain including raw material procurement, logistics, warehousing, and customer delivery to ensure that customer needs are met in terms of quality, time, and quantity.
Analyze and evaluate data on suppliers and inventory for better planning, procurement, and logistics.
Drive digitalization and sustainability projects within the country to enhance operational efficiency.
Control supply chain costs and identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Budget and forecast supply chain expenses, making informed decisions on sourcing (make-or-buy).
Monitor and report on KPIs related to supply chain management, identifying performance gaps and implementing corrective actions.
Lead and mentor a team of planners, procurement staff, logistics personnel, and warehousing teams to achieve performance objectives and deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications and Experience

Business-oriented degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in project management and process improvement within the supply chain domain.
Fluent in English; knowledge of the local language is a plus.
Proficient in supply chain software and other analytical tools.
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of driving results in supply chain management.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
