Job Summary

inSupply Health is an East African health advisory firm dedicated to designing people-centered, scalable, and sustainable supply chain solutions. We optimize data visibility, workforce development, and performance improvement to enhance health outcomes. InSupply Health operates as a social enterprise, transitioning short-term supply chain fixes into lasting solutions. We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-driven Senior Procurement Assistant to support our procurement function. This role involves sourcing goods and services, maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring compliance, and driving cost-effective procurement processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Execution:
    Assist in implementing procurement strategies to meet the organizational needs and ensure cost-effective purchasing.

  • Vendor Relations:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure quality products and reliable service.

  • Contract Administration:
    Oversee contract execution to align with company standards and legal requirements.

  • Compliance:
    Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

  • Cost Management:
    Identify cost-saving initiatives and support the implementation of efficient procurement practices.

  • Procurement Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records, including vendor files, purchase orders, and contracts.

  • Logistics Coordination:
    Manage staff movement planning, flight bookings, and transportation arrangements as required.

  • Market Research:
    Conduct market analysis to inform procurement decisions and enhance supplier negotiations.

  • Risk Mitigation:
    Identify potential procurement risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.

  • Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with internal teams to understand and address their procurement needs effectively.

  • Sustainability & Ethics:
    Promote sustainable and ethical practices in all procurement processes.

  • Administrative Support:
    Provide additional administrative support and perform any other assigned tasks.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certification:
    Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, registered under PSPTB) or currently in progress.

  • Experience:
    At least 2 years of experience in a procurement role, preferably in NGOs or consulting environments. Experience with MS Dynamics or similar ERP systems is a plus.

  • Desired Competencies:

    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
    • Proficiency in procurement software and systems
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
    • Commitment to ethical sourcing and continuous learning
    • Adaptability to evolving business and procurement challenges
