Scope of the Role
This Sales Executive position is part of the talent pool for future opportunities and is not for immediate recruitment. The primary accountability is to deliver business year NSV and Volume targets (NSV 2.5-3 BLN TZS) by managing distributor networks, overseeing stockists, and ensuring excellent execution in outlets.
Purpose of the Role
The Sales Executive will manage an assigned geographical area covering towns, villages, and several distributor territories to achieve primary and secondary sales targets, market share, NSV, and NR objectives. The role involves mentoring Area Distributors, VSMs, and their staff, and closely working with the commercial teams, SBL marketing, supply, and finance to deliver flawless execution.
Leadership Responsibilities and Decision Making
- Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure engagement in strategic plans and flawless execution.
- Maintain a close working relationship with SBL marketing, supply, and finance.
Key Accountabilities
- Mentor & Accompaniment: Mentor VSMs as part of Diageo’s toolkit.
- Area Distributor Sales Performance Management: Oversee primary and secondary sales performance through stockists and retail outlets. Coordinate with Distributor Managers to drive and execute agreed sales plans, manage orders, and ensure delivery.
- Representation: Occasionally represent the Distribution Manager to connect with distributors, focusing on secondary sales initiatives, training, and sales force effectiveness.
- New Distribution Point Appointment: Identify potential new distributors and stockists to facilitate effective stock movement and recruitment of new business partners, including managing the KYC process.
- Account Development: Lead joint activities with top outlets to boost sales and market share, including outlet execution, pricing initiatives, promotions, visibility enhancements, and new SKU/brand listings.
- Distributor Health and Profitability: Enhance distributor operations in ordering, receiving, secondary distribution, and automation. Monitor distributor performance and highlight red flags affecting SBL’s objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Qualifications: At least a college graduate (Diploma and above) with mathematical and analytical skills; a background in business administration is preferred.
- Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal communication, self-initiative, the ability to work with minimal supervision, strong analytical mind, and ambition to reach high targets. Must present a professional image by wearing clean and presentable Serengeti Breweries Ltd branded clothing.
- Skill Set: Proficiency in salesmanship, communication, presentation, negotiation, basic calculations, and mobile device usage. Ability to drive vehicles safely and effectively.
