The company was acquired by EABL in 2010 and has breweries in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Moshi. SBL’s flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager, with a portfolio that includes Guinness, Pilsner, and international brands like Johnnie Walker®, Smirnoff Vodka®, and Bailey’s®.

Role Purpose

Provide leadership in developing maintenance strategies
Improve equipment effectiveness and maintainability
Prevent equipment failures
Drive performance and reliability across teams

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality standards
Integrate MMS Asset Care practices in Tier 1 operations
Support and execute weekly maintenance schedules
Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Coach teams in Asset Care practices
Manage maintenance budgets
Optimize Mean Time to Repair and inventory levels
Oversee technical skill development across shifts
Work with Project Engineers for equipment reliability and retrofit
Monitor equipment condition and ensure lifecycle achievement
Embed quality and food safety practices in daily operations

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical & Processing Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in an operational environment
IBD certification (General Certificate in Spirits/Beer Packaging) or willingness to complete
