Job Purpose

Responsible for developing new business opportunities by proactively marketing lending/deposit opportunities from current & potential clients; cross-selling bank services; working closely with the entire branch staff to maintain a high degree of customer focus.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Regular meetings with existing and potential customers and offering available lending and non-lending products
  • Proactively drive renewal/review process of existing facilities, ensuring timely and thorough evaluation of all facilities
  • Meet key customers (top 20% depositors) at least once quarterly and big borrowers as per process flow
  • Identify new product opportunities through local market intelligence
  • Market the bank’s service capabilities and look for ways to enhance relationships beyond lending
  • Participate end-to-end in loan workouts, collections, and recovery of loans in arrears
  • Daily monitoring and follow-up of all accounts in arrears
  • Initiate demand and recovery procedures as necessary
  • Re-assess securities and documentation
  • Liaise with the Recoveries Unit when appropriate
  • Cross-sell bank products such as Trade Finance, Forex, Bank Guarantees, Simbanking, and SimAccount
  • Collect market intelligence from local competitors
  • Appraise credit applications at the branch level and provide financial and business justification
  • Monitor and review business performance to ensure targets are met
  • Monitor loan portfolio quality and ensure compliance with approval terms and covenants
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least a professional banking certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a strong background in customer relationship management
  • Strategic business awareness and knowledge of bank products and services
  • Experience with performance and change management
  • Strong communication, planning, organizing, interpersonal, coaching, and analytical skills
  • Competency in computer usage and reporting
