Job Summary:
CRS Tanzania is hiring a Project Manager for Markets and Private Sector Engagement for the SPICES project (Securing and Protecting Investments and Capacities for Environmental Sustainability). The project targets farming families in Kilimanjaro and Tanga, aiming to promote sustainable practices and strong market linkages. This role will lead private sector engagement, co-investment partnerships, and business model innovation with smallholder farmers and companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project technical implementation, budget management, and reporting across all phases.
- Supervise staff, manage performance, and support capacity development.
- Support project learning, evaluation, and adaptation.
- Build and manage partnerships with private sector actors, local stakeholders, and government entities.
- Represent CRS at various coordination and stakeholder meetings.
- Monitor project resources and ensure timely financial reporting from partners.
- Contribute to technical proposals and capacity-building interventions.
- Maintain organized project documentation and compliance with agency/donor standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s in agriculture/agroforestry or international relations preferred).
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management in agriculture or private sector engagement.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Strong leadership and relationship management skills.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Knowledge in data analysis, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with USG grant management and donor compliance (preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 2 Project Officers
Key Relationships: Internal – Programming, Operations, MEAL, Regional Advisors; External – Private sector, donors, local government.
