Job Summary
This position is based at a branch and involves proactively and reactively selling banking products and servicing customer needs. The role holder must meet weekly sales targets and is expected to support other branches when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Service (95%)
- Opening and managing accounts, loan products, card products, and more
- Providing customer service in line with ABSA standards
- Identifying sales opportunities and cross-selling relevant products
- Managing follow-up paperwork and administrative tasks
- Supporting in marketing activities and campaigns
- Handling customer complaints and maintaining branch appearance
- Achieving service and sales targets and reporting on progress
Business Management (5%)
- Monitoring sales targets and performance
- Supporting client meetings and understanding customer goals
- Time management and prioritization of high-value activities
Risk and Control
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal risk policies
- Proactively identify and report risk events
- Participate in continuous improvements in risk control processes
Impact on Stakeholders
Customers
- Receive consistent, high-standard service and product recommendations

Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Higher Certificate or Advanced National Certificate in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (Required)
Experience
- Previous customer-facing roles, ideally within banking or sales
- Experience working in a target-driven environment
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and product knowledge
- Effective planning and customer service abilities
- Familiarity with ABSA systems, policies, and KYC procedures
