About LESA Saccos LTD
LESA SACCOS LTD is a registered Savings and Credit Cooperative Society with a primary goal of mobilizing members’ savings and providing credit facilities. Established in February 2011 under the Co-operative Societies Act No.6 of 2013, LESA SACCOS is based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and seeks to recruit a full-time Finance and Administration Manager.
Position Overview
The Finance and Administration Manager reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient financial and administrative services. This position will be subject to a 6-month probation period.
The role requires managing, developing, and leading an internal team supporting finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, administration, and IT, while ensuring exceptional customer service. As a key member of the Board, the Finance and Administration Manager plays a critical role in strategic decision-making and operations.

Main Job Responsibilities
Accounting:
- Establish, maintain, and reconcile the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and cheque payments for accounts due.
- Record transactions and enter data into the computerized accounting system and Excel or manual books.
- Maintain financial files and records, process invoices, and manage the assets register.
- Complete Year End Cut-off procedures and file TRA tax returns.
- Make payments of statutory contributions/deductions and remit them to relevant authorities.
Financial Management:
- Analyze and present accurate financial reports, clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and board committees.
- Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process, monitor progress, and update the board on financial status and investment opportunities.
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecast future needs.
- Identify new investment and business opportunities and advise the Board accordingly.
Human Resources, Technology, and Administration:
- Develop LESA SACCOS’s HR policies, streamline recruitment processes, and enhance staff development.
- Establish a comprehensive training program for SACCOS members on policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with external partners and IT consultants to ensure efficient operations of the cooperative.
- Supervise two Loan Officers and oversee administrative functions to maintain smooth operations.
Educational Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or related field (MBA is a plus).
- CPA certification is required.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial and operations management.
- Proven experience in managing financial data, reporting, and audit coordination.
- Experience in SACCOS software management and technology integration is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
