Job Summary

Plan International is strengthening its role as a leading humanitarian organization, with a focus on expanding emergency fundraising efforts. We are seeking a Humanitarian Fundraising Project Lead (Interim) to coordinate global fundraising efforts, enhance donor engagement, and improve the organization’s capacity to generate flexible emergency funding.

In this role, you will develop and implement high-quality fundraising initiatives, coordinate emergency appeals, manage income distribution, and support training for national offices. You will also collaborate with global teams to create compelling donor materials that align with humanitarian response priorities.

This position is ideal for an experienced fundraiser with a strong background in humanitarian aid, innovative fundraising strategies, and stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Implementation

  • Lead the development of high-quality fundraising campaigns, appeals, and donor engagement materials.
  • Oversee income management, reporting, and the distribution of funds across humanitarian programs.
  • Support National Organizations in scaling up flexible funding strategies.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the central focal point for humanitarian fundraising, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Work closely with the Global Fundraising Support Team, Humanitarian Team, Communications, Country and Regional Offices, and National Organizations.
  • Ensure alignment between fundraising initiatives and Plan International’s humanitarian response objectives.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Provide guidance and training to National Organizations to strengthen their fundraising capacity.
  • Develop knowledge-sharing resources and best practices to enhance global fundraising efforts.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze fundraising performance, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Requirement Details
Education Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, international development, or a related field.
Experience Proven track record in humanitarian fundraising, ideally within an INGO.
Technical Skills Strong understanding of innovative fundraising techniques, donor engagement, and humanitarian response funding.
Soft Skills Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Language Fluency in English required. Additional languages are an advantage.

Work Location & Employment Terms

  • This is a remote role, open to candidates in countries where Plan International has an office.
  • Employment terms, salary, and benefits will be based on the candidate’s location and local employment policies.
