Job Summary
BRELA is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead the Business Registry Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of business records, guiding the implementation of records management policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role also involves coordinating records retention, disposal schedules, and maintaining a comprehensive filing and archiving system.
Key Responsibilities
- Records Management: Advise and provide guidance on both electronic and manual records management systems.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and maintain Records Management Policies, Regulations, and Manuals.
- File Classification & Management: Oversee the processing of file classification schemes and indices for the Agency’s records.
- Business Records Maintenance: Maintain electronic and manual registers for Business Names, Companies, Business Licenses, Industrial Licenses, Patents, Trade Marks, and Service Marks.
- File Tracking & Movement: Monitor and control the movement of files, ensuring proper tracking.
- Correspondence Management: Control incoming and outgoing correspondences and register various documents.
- Archiving & Retrieval: Supervise the scanning, indexing, and archiving of files and ensure the timely retrieval of records.
- Records Retention: Coordinate the implementation of the Agency’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.
- Updating Business Files: Facilitate the timely updating of business files and records in cooperation with other directorates.
- Supervision & Reporting: Oversee and supervise the management of post-registration records and other administrative duties.
Required Qualifications
Requirement | Details |

Education | Master’s Degree in Records Management, Archives, or related fields |
Experience | At least 8 years of experience in records management, with at least 3 years at a senior level |
Skills | Strong leadership skills, excellent knowledge of records management systems, and ability to implement policies effectively |
Other Requirements | The Master’s Degree must be related to the Bachelor’s Degree in the same field |
