Role Overview

As the MI & Impairment Manager, you will oversee data transmission between Group IT and NBC, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data. Your role involves data reconciliation, impairment reporting, and supporting business data intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and Control Data Quality (20%)

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data by comparing Group IT data with local server data.
  • Investigate and address any data anomalies, working closely with IT for solutions.
  • Continuously enhance reporting processes and tools for efficiency.
  • Oversee MI reporting processes to ensure reports are precise, timely, and meet stakeholder needs.

2. Reconciliation of Reports Between Retail Risk and Finance (20%)

  • Ensure availability of input files for reconciliation.
  • Identify and utilize variables for the reconciliation process.
  • Run and adjust SAS codes as needed and communicate changes to relevant teams.
  • Obtain necessary sign-offs from Finance and Retail Credit Risk heads.

3. Retail Portfolio Forecasts (20%)

  • Develop and manage models for Retail forecasts, including STP, RAF, and MTP.
  • Document assumptions and present forecasts to the business for review.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and address deviations.

4. Submission of Timely MIS on Impairment (10%)

  • Prepare and validate impairment numbers from various sources.
  • Obtain approvals from relevant heads and address any anomalies.
  • Provide MI impairment analytics for the NBC Impairment Committee and support regulatory reporting.

5. Ensure Compliance with Impairment Model Risk Policy (10%)

  • Adhere to the Impairment Model Risk Policy and assess key parameters.
  • Initiate the DWB process as required.

6. Provide Support to Business in Different Models (10%)

  • Assist with model usage and interpretation.
  • Recommend improvements and support the preparation of board reports.

7. Support Finance and Group Credit Risk Reporting (5%)

  • Prepare and manage regulatory reports related to retail impairments.

8. Retail Portfolio Write-Offs (5%)

  • Review and approve accounts for write-offs and manage forecasts to minimize impact.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Risk Management.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Credit Risk Management and 1 year in banking. Specific experience in portfolio performance management is preferred.
  • Skills: Analytical thinking, ability to work under pressure, communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and interpersonal skills.
