Pathfinder is seeking a dedicated Director of Programs (DOP) to oversee and provide technical leadership for projects in Tanzania. About the Role

As the Director of Programs, you will play a crucial role in guiding Pathfinder’s project implementation team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management: Define and support the program or project cycle, from proposal writing to project closure. Lead work planning and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Prepare and review reports, address risks, and ensure program success.
  • Financial Management: Allocate resources, monitor expenses, and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. Review and approve expenditures and support financial reporting.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Manage and mentor Senior Portfolio Technical Advisors and Project Managers. Foster continuous improvement, encourage innovation, and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the senior management team to develop strategies and long-term plans. Identify opportunities and assess their feasibility and impact.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Education: A Master’s degree or higher in public health, health policy, or related social science fields.
  • Experience: At least 10 years in technical leadership, program development, and management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position within NGOs. Expertise in SRHR, Climate Resilience, RMNCAH, and AYSRH is essential.
  • Skills: Knowledge of health systems strengthening, community-based programming, and documenting best practices. Experience with programs funded by multiple donors is preferred.
