Job Description
Johari Rotana is currently seeking passionate and dynamic sales professionals who pride themselves on delivering extraordinary levels of customer service and providing creative solutions to guests.
As the Events Manager, you will assist the Director of Catering & Events in achieving the Catering & Events budget by overseeing the daily sales efforts of the department and maintaining the Opera system according to standard. You will also ensure high standards of communication flow across the hotel for all events booked.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain active relationships with key clients to increase satisfaction and drive business to Rotana properties.
- Collaborate with Rotana Outbound Sales and Area Sales Offices to manage leads and foster guest loyalty.
- Maintain IFH Mystery Call performance results above 70% as per Rotana standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and readiness of meeting rooms and equipment; report any issues to the Director of Catering & Events.
- Distribute Banquet Event Orders daily and attend departmental briefings to maintain smooth communication.
- Jointly manage incoming requests with the Sales team, ensuring timely follow-ups and adherence to Rotana standards.
- Optimize hotel revenue through yield management and upselling of hotel facilities and services.
- Supervise and support banquet operations before, during, and after events, ensuring client satisfaction throughout.
- Collect guest feedback during and after events and encourage participation in the Guest Satisfaction Survey.
- Promote professionalism, social skills, and team spirit among all team members.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Johari Rotana as well as competitor hotels in the area.
- Report any departmental or operational irregularities to the Director of Catering & Events.
- Operate with safety and environmental consciousness, complying with hotel EHS policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales or related field.
- Proven experience in event management or a similar sales-related role.
- Proficiency in computer systems including Opera and Microsoft Office.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
