Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties
- Drive all WVT Project vehicles as planned, ensuring the safe and timely arrival of passengers and goods.
- Avoid accidents and ensure safe travel for all road users.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct regular checks before and after use.
- Ensure timely servicing and cleanliness to maintain roadworthiness.
Clerical Services
- Provide timely support for staff and deliver documents efficiently.
- Ensure proper documentation of all dispatches.
Logbook Maintenance
- Accurately record mileage, refueling, and services.
- Track usage and performance of the vehicle.
Documentation and Safety Equipment
- Ensure validity and availability of documents and kits (insurance, first aid, fire extinguisher, etc.).
- Adhere to traffic rules and vehicle policy.
Child Protection
- Ensure all visitors sign child protection forms upon pick-up.
- Explain the purpose and importance of the form.
Load Management
- Avoid overloading the vehicle to preserve tire life and follow traffic laws.
Reporting and Communication
- Report any vehicle issues and service needs to the Senior Transport Officer.
- Offer reminders on scheduled maintenance.
Policy Adherence
- Follow all World Vision vehicle policies.
- No unauthorized persons, timely parking, no speeding.
Other Duties
- Support other legal assignments from the employer.
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience
- Safe driving record and knowledge of vehicle mechanics
- Long-distance driving experience
- Good oral communication in Kiswahili and English
- Polite, adaptable, and culturally sensitive
- Available for after-hours travel when needed
- High integrity and ability to write basic reports
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Class C (C1, C2, C3) Driving License
- Form Four certificate with NIT or VETA Advanced Driving Certificate
Work Environment
- Office-based with regular field travel
- Domestic travel required
- Physically and mentally fit
- Strong interpersonal relationships and teamwork skills
