Key Responsibilities
- Database Management: Oversee and support the bank’s critical databases for Core Banking Systems, Digital Channels, Clearing Systems, and others.
- Database Replication: Configure and maintain database replication to ensure real-time data synchronization.
- Database Installation: Design, install, and configure new database instances to meet business requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply patches and upgrades as needed.
- Backup Solutions: Configure, monitor, and maintain backup solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Address backup issues related to databases, servers, Virtual Machines, and File Systems.
- Data Restoration: Perform data restoration and recovery tests, and maintain proper documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements regarding data backups.
Daily Responsibilities
- Routine Support: Conduct routine production database support, including checking table space free space and memory utilization.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve database-related issues and collaborate closely with development staff.
- Backup Management: Monitor and manage the backup environment daily.
- Configuration: Configure backup solutions on requested servers and Virtual Machines.
- Native Backups: Perform database-related native backups.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
Professional Certifications:
- Professional Certification in Database Administration.
- Certification in Data Backup Administration.
- Certification in IT Services Management.
Skills and Experience:
- Professional knowledge in Relational Databases Management Systems and backup and recovery solutions.
- Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server Databases, and backup solutions like Commvault, NetWorker, Veritas, Veeam.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in backup administration, database management, and Linux administration.
