Job Summary

The Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) is seeking a Cotton Textile Coordinator to support sustainable cotton programs and the efficient flow of cotton materials within the textile production process. The ideal candidate will oversee cotton quality control, coordinate production processes, and ensure timely delivery of fiber crops to manufacturers.

This role is crucial in maintaining cotton quality standards, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and implementing sustainable sourcing practices such as organic cotton and Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) programs.


Key Responsibilities

1. Textile Production Coordination

  • Ensure smooth cotton flow throughout the textile manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with spinning, weaving, and dyeing departments.
  • Implement quality control measures on incoming cotton bales.

2. Sustainable Cotton & Supply Chain Management

  • Support initiatives related to sustainable fiber crop production.
  • Implement sourcing strategies for organic and BCI-certified cotton.
  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to secure high-quality cotton at competitive prices.

3. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of cotton purchases, inventory levels, and quality data.
  • Generate reports on cotton costs, quality trends, and production performance.

4. Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure cotton meets industry quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor cotton sustainability certifications and compliance with international textile regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Science, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in cotton quality control and sustainability are an added advantage.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Experience in textile production, apparel manufacturing, or fiber crop management.
  • Basic understanding of garment construction and fabric types.
  • Knowledge of cotton crop production processes.
  • Strong analytical skills for quality assessment and cost evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams.
