Job Purpose:
The Business Development & Project Manager will spearhead new business initiatives and projects, leveraging WASSHA’s existing assets such as our kiosk network, marketing team, SCM team, and call centre. Your role will involve initiating, researching, and solving problems to create new values and opportunities for our agents and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Budget Management: Formulate and execute budgets for specific projects, ensuring effective allocation and utilization of resources.
- Customer Research: Conduct interviews with potential customers and create comprehensive reports.
- Industry Analysis: Research global trends and technologies to identify new business opportunities.
- Business Model Design: Analyze customer pain points and develop monetization strategies.
- Project Planning: Oversee the planning, execution, and budget analysis of Proof of Concept projects.
- Negotiations: Engage with partners, accounting firms, law firms, and government entities.
- Resource Coordination: Collaborate with WASSHA teams globally to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Customer Engagement: Focus on solving customer pain points and expanding essential solutions.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, Development Studies, Agriculture, Computer Science, or Data Science. Professional qualifications in related fields are desirable.
- Experience: Proven success in managing complex operations, strategic planning, financial management, and business development.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, field sense, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and an analytical mindset.
- Competencies: Knowledge of community and industrial development in Sub-Saharan Africa, proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel, data analytics, financial modeling, and a respectful, open-minded attitude.
Working Relationships
- Internal: Collaborate with all teams within WASSHA to foster a collaborative environment.
- External: Engage with underprivileged communities, end users, agents, partner organizations, and government bodies.
