Job Summary

Save the Children is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to lead fundraising strategies, identify donor opportunities, and facilitate engagement with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and partners. The role requires expertise in proposal development, grant management, and donor relations.

Based in Dar es Salaam, the BD Manager will collaborate closely with the Awards department and other Save the Children International members to secure program funding and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Donor Engagement & Fundraising Strategy

  • Identify new funding opportunities from institutional and non-institutional donors.
  • Lead the development of fundraising strategies to support program growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, government agencies, and partners.

Proposal Development & Grant Management

  • Coordinate and lead the development of high-quality funding proposals.
  • Work closely with program teams to ensure alignment with donor priorities.
  • Stay informed on grant progress and provide updates on key reporting documents.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with Save the Children International members to secure funding.
  • Ensure donor engagement aligns with current program funding and strategic goals.
  • Support internal teams by providing insights on donor trends and funding landscapes.

Qualifications & Experience

Requirement Details
Education Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience Proven experience in business development, fundraising, or grant management within an NGO or development sector
Technical Skills Strong understanding of donor landscapes, proposal writing, and grant management
Soft Skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
