Job Summary

Mwanga Hakika Bank is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth of Loans and Advances, Deposit Mobilization, Trade Finance, Bancassurance, and other alternative products at the regional level. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sales activities, training and supporting branch sales teams, and executing effective business strategies to boost the bank’s performance.


Key Responsibilities

A. Business Soliciting, Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Identify and engage potential corporate clients for account openings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to enhance retention.
  • Develop market strategies for Loans, Deposits, Trade Finance, and other banking products.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate and Retail Banking departments to enhance business opportunities.
  • Address customer inquiries and provide prompt resolutions.

B. Deposit Mobilization

  • Drive deposit growth through targeted campaigns and strategic client engagement.
  • Solicit deposits from corporate and retail clients to meet deposit targets.
  • Monitor branch deposit trends and implement retention strategies.

C. Cross-Selling & Product Promotion

  • Promote bank products, including Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, Insurance, Loans, FX, and Trade Finance.
  • Analyze market competition and customer preferences for product development.

D. Relationship Management

  • Conduct customer engagement activities to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop strategies to attract new clients while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Support corporate clients with tailored banking solutions.

E. Reporting, Monitoring & Performance Tracking

  • Maintain a database of high-net-worth customers and track branch business growth.
  • Monitor loan performance, ensuring minimal Non-Performing Loans (NPLs).
  • Provide reports on business performance, loan recovery efforts, and customer engagement.

F. Coaching & Mentoring

  • Train and mentor branch sales teams to improve performance.
  • Monitor sales KPIs and ensure targets are consistently met.

G. Other Duties

  • Participate in branch budgeting for sales activities.
  • Prepare business proposals and management reports.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of banking experience, preferably in business development, sales, or branch operations.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products, regulations, and risk management.

  • Proven ability to cross-sell financial products and drive business growth.
  • Strong market analysis and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to manage corporate relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
