Key Responsibilities

1. Identify and Develop New Business Opportunities

  • Research potential markets, industries, and client segments to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Prospect new clients, generate leads, and initiate relationships.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and maintain key business connections.

2. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor industry developments and stay updated on market conditions.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Resolve any client concerns and maintain high customer satisfaction.

4. Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement business strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to align goals.
  • Negotiate contracts and business terms to secure favorable deals.

5. Sales and Revenue Generation

  • Drive the sales process from prospecting to deal closure.
  • Identify key decision-makers and present tailored solutions.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets.

6. Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work with other departments to ensure smooth execution of business strategies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff.
  • Attend industry events and conferences for networking and promotion.

7. Reporting and Forecasting

  • Track and report on business development activities and sales performance.
  • Prepare regular reports and provide recommendations for improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in business development in the edible oil, petroleum, or gas industry, with managerial experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.
    • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of market research techniques and industry trends.
