Key Responsibilities

Develop Security Procedures and Guidelines (20%)
Develop robust security measures to mitigate risks.

Monitoring and Analysis of Security Threats (50%)
Proactively monitor and analyze security threats, implementing measures to minimize loss and disruptions.

Compilation of Safety and Security Reports (5%)
Compile quality safety and security reports and submit them in a timely manner.

Security Investigations (5%)
Investigate security incidents to determine root causes and ensure measures are taken to prevent reoccurrence.

Management of Security Contractors (10%)
Oversee security companies and service providers to ensure maximum performance.

Training (10%)
Enhance security and safety awareness among employees and key partners.

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role

Required Professional Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a proven security field in a public or private institution.
  • Experience in humanitarian work is an added value.
  • Strong relating and networking skills.
  • Experience in investigations and conducting security risk assessments.

Required Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification:

  • Degree in law, military, social science, or any relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
  • No previous criminal records.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Computer literacy.
  • Report writing skills.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:

  • Experience working in refugee camps.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficient in English and Swahili (written and spoken).

Key Working Relationships

Within and Outside World Vision:

  • WVT Field Staff: Daily contact to support food distribution and project activities.
  • Security Companies: Daily monitoring of performance and communication.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA): Regular contact regarding distribution matters and refugee concerns.
  • Refugee Community Leaders: Regular contact for information dissemination.
  • Police: Regular contact to ensure security in distribution areas.

Decision Making

The role requires moderate-level decision-making.
