Position: Assistant Security Officer

Key Responsibilities

Develop Security Procedures and Guidelines (20%)
Develop robust security measures to mitigate risks.

Monitoring and Analysis of Security Threats (50%)
Proactively monitor and analyze security threats, implementing measures to minimize loss and disruptions.

Compilation of Safety and Security Reports (5%)
Compile quality safety and security reports and submit them in a timely manner.

Security Investigations (5%)
Investigate security incidents to determine root causes and ensure measures are taken to prevent reoccurrence.

Management of Security Contractors (10%)
Oversee security companies and service providers to ensure maximum performance.

Training (10%)
Enhance security and safety awareness among employees and key partners.

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role

Required Professional Experience:

At least 4 years of experience in a proven security field in a public or private institution.
Experience in humanitarian work is an added value.
Strong relating and networking skills.
Experience in investigations and conducting security risk assessments.

Required Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification:

Degree in law, military, social science, or any relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
No previous criminal records.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

Computer literacy.
Report writing skills.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:

Experience working in refugee camps.

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically fit.

Language Requirements:

Proficient in English and Swahili (written and spoken).

Key Working Relationships

Within and Outside World Vision:

WVT Field Staff: Daily contact to support food distribution and project activities.
Security Companies: Daily monitoring of performance and communication.
Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA): Regular contact regarding distribution matters and refugee concerns.
Refugee Community Leaders: Regular contact for information dissemination.
Police: Regular contact to ensure security in distribution areas.

Decision Making

The role requires moderate-level decision-making.
