Key Responsibilities
Develop Security Procedures and Guidelines (20%)
Develop robust security measures to mitigate risks.
Monitoring and Analysis of Security Threats (50%)
Proactively monitor and analyze security threats, implementing measures to minimize loss and disruptions.
Compilation of Safety and Security Reports (5%)
Compile quality safety and security reports and submit them in a timely manner.
Security Investigations (5%)
Investigate security incidents to determine root causes and ensure measures are taken to prevent reoccurrence.
Management of Security Contractors (10%)
Oversee security companies and service providers to ensure maximum performance.
Training (10%)
Enhance security and safety awareness among employees and key partners.
Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role
Required Professional Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in a proven security field in a public or private institution.
- Experience in humanitarian work is an added value.
- Strong relating and networking skills.
- Experience in investigations and conducting security risk assessments.
Required Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification:
- Degree in law, military, social science, or any relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
- No previous criminal records.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Computer literacy.
- Report writing skills.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:
- Experience working in refugee camps.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically fit.
Language Requirements:
- Proficient in English and Swahili (written and spoken).
Key Working Relationships
Within and Outside World Vision:
- WVT Field Staff: Daily contact to support food distribution and project activities.
- Security Companies: Daily monitoring of performance and communication.
- Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA): Regular contact regarding distribution matters and refugee concerns.
- Refugee Community Leaders: Regular contact for information dissemination.
- Police: Regular contact to ensure security in distribution areas.
Decision Making
The role requires moderate-level decision-making.
