Job Summary
Blue Recruits Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Mining Plant Manager to lead the mining, exploration, and gold processing operations of a growing company. This role requires a professional with a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership skills to optimize operational efficiency and drive business sustainability.
The Mining Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day mining activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing plant personnel, and optimizing production processes. This role also involves identifying new mining opportunities and ensuring cost-effective plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Production Management
- Oversee daily mining plant operations, ensuring production targets are met.
- Manage extraction processes, equipment, and workforce efficiency.
- Implement best practices in gold processing and exploration to enhance productivity.
2. Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead, recruit, train, and develop plant personnel.
- Foster a positive work culture and maintain high-performance standards.
3. Financial & Resource Management
- Monitor and manage the plant’s budget, including controlling costs.
- Ensure efficient use of raw materials, energy, and other resources.
4. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Procurement & Inventory Management
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, equipment, and spare parts.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels and cost-effective purchasing.
6. Maintenance & Equipment Oversight
- Oversee machinery maintenance and infrastructure repairs.
- Ensure minimum downtime and maximum equipment productivity.
7. Market & Expansion Strategies
- Identify and assess new mining opportunities.
- Provide strategic insights to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in mining, exploration, or gold processing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of gold processing techniques and equipment.
- Budgeting Expertise: Proven ability to manage budgets and prioritize cost-effective solutions.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to manage teams and build stakeholder relationships.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong decision-making and crisis-management skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in Tanzania or similar regions.
- Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and community engagement.
- Fluency in Swahili is an added advantage.
