Job Summary

Equity Bank is looking for a Senior Officer – Channel Application Support to maintain and optimize its digital banking channels, including mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, POS systems, and API integrations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless banking operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating with internal teams and vendors to enhance system performance.


Key Responsibilities

Application Maintenance & Support

  • Monitor and maintain banking applications to ensure minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting banking channels.
  • Support service desk issues, ensuring escalated tickets are resolved within SLA timelines.
  • Assist customers, branch staff, and other stakeholders with application-related issues.

System Enhancements & Compliance

  • Work with vendors and development teams to implement updates, patches, and new features.
  • Ensure banking applications comply with security policies, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage APIs and middleware connecting banking channels to the core banking system.
  • Use monitoring tools to track system performance and generate reports for management.

Incident Management & Security

  • Apply IT Service Management (ITSM) practices such as incident, problem, and change management (ITIL framework).
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity principles and banking regulations.

Required Qualifications

Requirement Details
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
Experience Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within the banking or financial sector
Technical Skills SQL, Unix/Linux, API integration, application servers
Knowledge Areas Core banking applications (Finacle), ITSM (incident, problem, change management), digital banking platforms
Soft Skills Ability to work under tight deadlines, strong troubleshooting skills, teamwork, and vendor coordination
