Key Responsibilities
1. Identify and Develop New Business Opportunities
- Research potential markets, industries, and client segments to identify new growth opportunities.
- Prospect new clients, generate leads, and initiate relationships.
- Develop strategic partnerships and maintain key business connections.
2. Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Monitor industry developments and stay updated on market conditions.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met.
- Resolve any client concerns and maintain high customer satisfaction.
4. Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement business strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to align goals.
- Negotiate contracts and business terms to secure favorable deals.
5. Sales and Revenue Generation
- Drive the sales process from prospecting to deal closure.
- Identify key decision-makers and present tailored solutions.
- Meet and exceed sales targets.
6. Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work with other departments to ensure smooth execution of business strategies.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff.
- Attend industry events and conferences for networking and promotion.
7. Reporting and Forecasting
- Track and report on business development activities and sales performance.
- Prepare regular reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in business development in the edible oil, petroleum, or gas industry, with managerial experience.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of market research techniques and industry trends.
