Job Summary
Geofields is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to oversee and optimize underground and open-pit mining operations. This role requires strong technical expertise in mine design, production monitoring, cost management, and compliance with industry regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate with site management and technical teams to ensure mining projects are executed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Mining Operations
- Assist with on-site and off-site technical mining issues and provide solutions.
- Interpret mining physicals, site costs, and optimize mine planning processes.
- Ensure mining projects meet production targets while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Design and implement templates for reporting and recording using MinRep, Deswick, and Surpac.
Mine Planning & Cost Control
- Design and optimize open-pit and underground mining projects to enhance productivity.
- Oversee mining costs and ensure the effective use of equipment and human resources.
- Implement cost-reduction initiatives and ensure project efficiency.
- Manage mining contract variations and compliance with contractual obligations.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and submit monthly mining progress reports to clients.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the correct use of protective equipment.
- Identify and report hazardous situations, implementing necessary safety measures.
Training & Mentorship
- Train and mentor graduate and vocational engineers in mining engineering best practices.
- Perform pre-start checks and ensure all client requirements are met contractually.
Minimum Requirements
