Position Overview: Project Officer (MECC/CAD/DRR)
In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of planning, coordinating, and executing projects at the intersection of migration, environmental changes, and disaster risk reduction. Your contributions will be vital in developing strategies and interventions that enhance community resilience and support sustainable development goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of MECC/CAD/DRR projects, ensuring alignment with IOM’s strategic objectives and donor requirements.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on migration trends, environmental changes, and disaster risks to inform project design and policy recommendations.
- Capacity Building: Create and deliver training programs and workshops to enhance the capacity of stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and partner organizations.
- Partnerships: Foster strong partnerships with governmental entities, NGOs, and international organizations to promote collaborative efforts and resource mobilization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Advanced university degree in Environmental Studies, Migration Studies, Disaster Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in project management, ideally within the context of migration, environment, and disaster risk reduction.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in multicultural settings.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
