National Consultant Job Opportunity at UNICEF Tanzania – Contribute to Data System Review for Violence Against Women and Children
UNICEF Tanzania, in collaboration with UN Women and UNFPA and with support from the Irish Embassy, is seeking a National Consultant for a crucial role in assessing data collection systems related to violence against women and children (VAWC). This three-month consultancy, based in Dar-es-Salaam, offers a unique opportunity to impact gender coordination mechanisms and enhance data systems for monitoring and reporting under the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children (NPA-VAWC II 2024/25 – 2028/29).
About the Role
As a National Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and improving national and sub-national data systems on VAWC. Your work will involve assessing current administrative data systems, establishing baselines for VAWC indicators, and proposing enhancements to improve monitoring and reporting processes. This consultancy aims to support the Government of Tanzania in strengthening data systems to better address violence against women and children.
Scope of Work
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing the NPA-VAWC II Framework: Understand and suggest improvements to ensure effective measurement of progress.
- Assessing Data Systems: Identify and analyze existing data systems, their relevance, and propose improvements.
- Establishing Baselines: Provide guidance to establish baseline data for VAWC indicators where needed.
- Developing Tools: Create tools for data collection and consolidation at national and sub-national levels.
- Strengthening Systems: Recommend actions to address gaps and enhance data systems for better VAWC reporting.
Deliverables
- Inception Report: Due within 2 weeks, accounting for 20% of the total work.
- Draft Report and Tools: Including baseline data, presentation, and M&E plan, due in 7 weeks (50% of total work).
- Final Report: With stakeholder inputs, final presentation, and M&E plan, due in 2 weeks (30% of total work).
