Since 2007, the Nature Conservancy’s Africa Program has worked to secure ownership rights to lands and resources for indigenous people, strengthen leadership and resource management, and help communities appreciate the benefits of nature. With operations in 9 African countries, we collaborate to address climate change, habitat loss, and biodiversity threats affecting over 1.4 billion people across the continent.
WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
This internship provides an exciting opportunity for a creative individual passionate about African cultures and environmental issues. The Social Media Intern will work closely with the Digital Communications and Social Media Manager to promote TNC’s conservation efforts, engage diverse audiences, and amplify an African voice in our digital communication strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Support content creation for social media platforms (Instagram, Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
- Create engaging visuals, stories, and multimedia elements to amplify TNC’s mission.
- Foster community engagement through interaction with online audiences.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to highlight their contributions.
- Monitor social media analytics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Business, Agribusiness, or other relevant fields.
- 6 months of related experience.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and trends.
- Experience with visual storytelling, design best practices, and community engagement.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English.
- Familiarity with digital tools and trends.
