Job Summary

TANROADS is seeking a highly qualified Resident Engineer to oversee the construction of the Simiyu Bridge (150M) and its approach road (3KM) to bitumen standard. The role involves supervising contractors, managing project progress, ensuring quality control, and overseeing compliance with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site staff, overseeing all technical and administrative tasks.
• Supervise the contractor’s work and ensure adherence to project plans.
• Oversee quality control, contract management, and timely project execution.
• Process contractor invoices and oversee payment procedures.
• Organize and attend regular site meetings, preparing necessary documentation.
• Monitor environmental and social impact mitigation measures in consultation with TANROADS specialists.
• Maintain updated records, including project reports, test results, and financial documentation.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Professional Registration: Must be a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and hold a valid practicing certificate.
• Postgraduate Qualification: A postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in road and bridge construction, supervision, and contract administration under FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
• Project Leadership: Must have served as a Resident Engineer or an equivalent role in at least three similar road construction projects in the last 10 years.
• Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
