Job Summary
Corus International, through Lutheran World Relief (LWR), is seeking a Driver to support a five-year USDA poultry value chain project in Tanzania. The project aims to transform small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the poultry sector into sustainable commercial businesses by strengthening feed production, promoting climate-smart technologies, and improving agricultural financial services. The driver will be responsible for operating project vehicles, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining vehicle upkeep while supporting field operations in Mbeya, Iringa, Songwe, and Rukwa.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Safely operate project vehicles for staff transport and cargo delivery as assigned.
✔ Perform routine vehicle maintenance and monitor service schedules.
✔ Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance, mileage, fuel consumption, and repairs.
✔ Ensure vehicles have valid insurance, road licenses, and all required documentation.
✔ Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security at all times.
✔ Monitor road conditions and adjust routes accordingly to ensure efficient travel.
✔ Deliver official documents, parcels, and other items as required.
✔ Adhere to traffic rules and ensure safety protocols in case of accidents.
✔ Conduct minor vehicle repairs and report any mechanical issues promptly.
✔ Provide logistical support for field visits and program activities.
Qualifications & Experience
✔ Education: Minimum Form IV (O-Level) education or higher.
✔ Driving License: Valid Class C driving license.
✔ Certification: Advanced Driving Certificate (Grade Two) from the National Institute of Transport (NIT) or any recognized institution.
✔ Experience: At least three (3) years of professional driving experience.
✔ INGO Experience: Previous experience working with an international NGO is preferred.
✔ Driving Record: Clean driving history with no major accidents in the last two years.
✔ Language Skills: Proficiency in Swahili and basic English communication.
