Fema Mining & Drilling Ltd is actively seeking dynamic and driven individuals to join our team in the Open Pit Mining Department. We are currently hiring for three Driller positions, and if you are ready to take on a challenging role in a thriving industry, we encourage you to apply!
Position Overview
As a Driller at Fema Mining & Drilling Ltd, you will undergo a comprehensive practical training and assessment program. Successful candidates will be considered for the role of Mining Operator, where you will be responsible for operating mining equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate drilling equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform pre-start checks and report any equipment faults to the supervisor.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Contribute proactively to operational safety and work collaboratively within the mining department.
- Adhere to lawful production instructions and maintain high safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary School Education Certificate (CSEE) preferred.
- Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License (Class B & D or higher).
- Over 5 years of experience operating and maintaining production drilling machines.
- Familiarity with Pantera1100, Down the Hole, and Top Hammers Drills.
- Experience with large rotary drills and hammer/percussion drills.
- Ability to work rotational day and night shifts.
- Strong communication skills in Kiswahili and/or English.
- Proven commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.
- Experience in remote mining sites and cross-cultural environments is a plus.
- Heavy equipment certification and physical/mental fitness for operating heavy mining equipment.
- Must pass a site test and undergo a thorough medical check-up.
- NIDA ID, TIN Number from Tanzania Revenue Authority, and letters of introduction from local Government Authority and two referees are required.
