Millennium Leadership Program – Fall 2024 Young Global Professionals Program at the Atlantic Council Headquarters

  • Job Location: Atlantic Council Headquarters – Washington, DC
  • Employment Type: Temporary
  • Seniority Level: Intern
  • Job Category: Staff
  • Interns will be paid at a rate of $17.50 per hour.

Description

The Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program (MLP) is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of empowered global leaders to tackle unprecedented global challenges. Our team develops and implements leadership programs with unique international convenings from Guatemala to Taiwan. We collaborate with rising stars from the private, public, and government sectors through our three programmatic pillars: leadership, community, and impact.

Currently, MLP runs the Millennium Fellowship Program, is launching the new Executive Leadership Intensive, co-leads the Young Global Professionals Program in partnership with the HR team, and is planning several short-term leadership programs for 2024/25.

As a full-time intern, you will provide vital logistical, writing, and operational support to the Program. Our team is versatile, flexible, and small but has a significant global impact. We operate in an all-hands-on-deck manner, encouraging interns to engage with all elements of our work. This role is ideal for a “generalist” with an extraordinary attention to detail, the ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for writing anything from social media posts to speeches and proposals. You will be exposed to the logistical elements of virtual event planning, large-scale in-person convenings, think tank operations, proposal writing, managing communications and social media plans, and monitoring and evaluation. You will also benefit from leadership training with executive-level trainers alongside our Fellows and are encouraged to participate in events hosted by other programs at the Atlantic Council.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working in a cross-cultural setting and an entrepreneurial ethos while being an effective communicator. We value strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce rigorous work under deadlines. A demonstrated interest in international affairs through coursework or experience is preferred.

This internship is based at our Washington, DC headquarters. Candidates must be available to work in-person throughout the program. Interns will be paid at a rate of $17.50 per hour.
