UDSM Admission 2024: Online Application, Entry Requirements Form

All requisite information and guidelines to take the applicant through the application stages are provided from the respective Instructions tab. ie.  UNDERGRADUATE  tab  for those applying for Certificates, diplomas and  bachelor degrees and POSTGRADUATE tab for those applying for    postgraduate-diplomas, masters and PhD .

Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) including index numbers where prompted.

Undergraduate applicants with foreign certificates are required to first present their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification at: http://www.necta.go.tz.. NECTA will issue them letters showing equivalent grades, copies of which should also be uploaded together with other certificates. Equivalent applicants are advised to obtain a special unique number from National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for verification and applying in the system at: http://www.nacte.go.tz. 

Postgraduate applicants with Foreign Certificates should have their certificates verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) at: http://faas.tcu.go.tz/login.php upon receipt of admission letter and prior joining the University of Dar es Salaam for studies.

UDSM Admission 2024, UDSM Application form

Once the admission process is complete, you will be informed through your specified email address about the status of your application. It is your responsibility to confirm your acceptance to join the University of Dar es Salaam. The confirmation process is also specified in the UDSM-OAS for those who will decide to accept the offer of admission to the University of Dar es Salaam. Failure to confirm will imply that you have not accepted the offer and the slot will be made available to other applicants.

Application fee payment: Non Tanzanians

Four entry schemes to bachelor’s degree programmes are recognized by the Commission as follows:

1. The direct entry qualifications for holders of Form Six Qualifications;

2. The holders of Ordinary Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications;

• The holders of Foundation Certificate offered by the Open University of Tanzania; and

1. The equivalent qualifications for holders of a Bachelor’s degree award.

For postgraduate programs, a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution is mandatory.

International students need to meet these qualifications, or their equivalents as recognized by the Tanzania Commission for Universities.

UDSM application Process 2024

2. Confirmation of Acceptance: Candidates must confirm their acceptance Online by using a special code provided. This typically involves visiting the UDSM admission portal at https://admission.udsm.ac.tz , accessing your profile and entering a special code and clicking on the Confirmation button.

3. Payment of Fees: After confirming acceptance, the applicant is required to pay the stipulated tuition and other related fees as per UDSM’s guidelines.
